Tencent, the Operator of the Leading Internet Community in China, and Augmentum to Demo Innovative Online Photo Album with Next Generation User Experience

Shanghai, China and Foster City, Calif. — June 4, 2007 — Augmentum, a leading provider of offshore outsourcing for software product and IT application development, together with Tencent, the operator of the leading Internet community in China, will present an online photo album concept built for QQ based on Microsoft Silverlight, at Microsoft MIX07 Hong Kong conference on June 5th.

Microsoft Silverlight is a cross-browser, cross-platform plug-in for delivering the next generation of media experiences and rich interactive applications for the Web. The album's convenient tag search function, user-friendly free view mode, and flexible interaction break the traditional photo album management model, and provide a unique user experience. Using new generation design, technologies and tools, Augmentum was instrumental in delivering Tencent's online photo album, adding value with next generation design, technologies and tools.

Tencent Innovation Center Director Richard Chang commented: "Developing products that are more humanized, easier to use, and emotionally closer to our users has always been our concept. The Silverlight-empowered online photo album concept is a good example of this. Throughout the project, I was deeply impressed by Augmentum's deep understanding of Silverlight, expertise in User Experience, and their dedication and enthusiasm, as well as their high efficiency and on-time delivery. In addition, we are very glad to update our services using Microsoft technologies. I look forward to continuing our long-term cooperation."

"We are very pleased to help Tencent serve its huge community with greatly improved and highly flexible user experiences made possible by the Silverlight technology" said Wayne Hom, Augmentum CTO. "In addition to being able to target multiple platforms and multiple browsers, Silverlight will enable Tencent to maintain their market leadership with the rapid creation of innovative and immersive online services."

Taking place in Hong Kong for the first time, MIX07 conference offers web design professionals and business decision makers a sneak peek at the technologies and tools for designing the Next Generation User Experience. At the conference, Augmentum and Tencent will demonstrate new functionality enabled by Microsoft Silverlight.
