Augmentum™ Brings "Experience Integration" to Help Enable Intel® Viiv™ Technology Verified Devices

Augmentum Offers Value-Added Software Services for OEMs and ODMs Building Consumer Electronic Devices on the Intel® 854 Development Platform

Shanghai, China and Foster City, CA - September 1, 2006-- Augmentum, a value-added software development services company operating in Asia and the US, is now providing design and development services to OEM/ODMs who are building Intel® Viiv™ technology verified consumer electronic devices based on the Intel® 854 development platform. Augmentum's value-added software services, integrating GUI design expertise with Intel's Digital Media Interface software, support OEM/ODM go-to-market strategies.

Leonard Liu, Chairman and CEO of Augmentum said: "Augmentum is committed to serving Intel's customers worldwide and to furthering industry progress towards a digital home lifestyle. Developments in consumer media devices, particularly at the intersection of hardware, software, and the user experience, are driving the most important changes in technology today."

"Augmentum is a valuable part of our ecosystem to support Intel customers building Intel® Viiv™ technology verified networked devices. Using these services, OEM/ODMs can create innovative solutions to help consumers share and enjoy their digital media," said William Leszinske, Jr., general manager, Networked Media Platform Group, Intel Corporation.

Intel Digital Media Infrastructure software, included with Intel's 854 development platform enables manufacturers to build Intel Viiv technology verified networked media devices, such as digital media adapters, connected digital TVs and DVD players. Over the past year, Augmentum has created a reference design, an example solution that helps developers speed time-to-market and also documents efficient ways to use the Intel Digital Media Infrastructure software and the platform foundation. In particular, Augmentum has designed and developed a GUI that integrates interconnected devices.

Augmentum will now offer software services to Intel's customers using the Digital Media Infrastructure software on Intel's 854 development platform to develop custom applications for Intel Viiv technology verified devices. For example, an application that could automatically detect the attachment of a digital camera to the device and display the photos in a slideshow for family enjoyment on a large screen display connected to the device. Applications may even move and organize the pictures onto an Intel® Viiv™ technology-based PC on the user's network for digital editing or uploading to a photo sharing Web site for sharing with friends and family throughout the world. Similar scenarios are possible with video and audio content.

Wayne Hom, Augmentum's CTO adds, "At Augmentum, we call this 'experience integration.' It means the software we develop for devices addresses the user need for a holistic integrated experience between different devices - including applications that support emerging networked usage models in the digital home."
